Palestinian Kindergarten in Cairo
PALESTINIAN KINDERGARTEN IN CAIRO- MEERA CENTRE FOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT- Started September 2024
CO-ORDINATOR WEJDAL. Wejdan ’s Cairo Kindergarten started with 50 children but now it grew into 250 children, with over 200 families involved. It not only help the children with education and overcoming their trauma, but it helps also the mothers, to meet each other, to speak together, to go through their stories of pain to find new levels of hope in life.
Art Therapy
Wejdan is also a master in Art Therapy, as well as in speech development for children with retarded speech due to war trauma. She is a super dedicated heroin that survived Gaza war and bombardments. Her house and all the houses of her family were destroyed, including her Kindergarten that was very famous in Gaza hosting over 500 children with 35 teachers. Many of the children and teachers also died.
Wejdan was able to escape to Rafah, and even there under war conditions, continued to teach to children in the street among the rubbles … see video below…

Indomitable spirit
One of the children was released recently from the hospital. His first house collapsed in Gaza, where his father died. Then while in Rafah the place they were staying also collapsed under the bombs. He and the grandmother were wounded, and were brought to Egypt, together with the mother and little brother, by an Ambulance.
There was a lot of joy during the opening day, and the kindy brought a lot of smiles on many faces, and lots of happiness to everyone who worked so hard to open it so quickly! Even if today not everyone was able to smile. Eventually it will happen, especially through the strength, dedication, immense love and invincible determination of Wejdan and her family.
